Why I built this
Someone always ends up doing everything.
In most homes the housework is invisible until it isn't. One person quietly carries the whole list — what's running low, whose turn it is, what got forgotten again — and everyone else means well. I didn't want to nag my kids. I wanted them to see the load, and to feel what it's like to share it.
So I built a small, warm place where the week is laid out plainly, where a six-year-old logs in by tapping their own face, and where doing your part earns a quiet bit of credit instead of a lecture. No accounts to wrestle with, no app store, nothing to install.
Hearth is named for the oldest idea of home: the fire everyone gathers around and keeps going together. That's the whole point — not another productivity tool, just a fairer, calmer way to run the place you live.

Nothing's switched on yet. While Hearth is young it's all free — the 40-chore line is simply where a paid plan would start once the day comes. A chore means a distinct job on your list, like "Walk the dog" — not each day it comes around.
